Closes
January 15
months away
Entry
$40 to apply; no charge to attend
a $50 refundable deposit on acceptance, and a $1,500 stipend to the resident
Your week
Two
four or six weeks on a Wyoming ranch with lodging, meals, a private studio and a $1,500 stipend
Your rights
Nothing about rights in work created during the residency appears in the captured terms — the residency FAQs, captured August 11, 2026.

This is the one card on the desk whose deadline is further away than its opening date: the Fall 2027 open call runs November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain time, for sessions running from the first Monday in August to the first Friday in December 2027. Nothing can be submitted today — the card is here so the date is on your calendar before the window opens, not after it shuts.

Composers are named in the eligibility line. The cost is a $40 nonrefundable application fee and, on acceptance, a $50 deposit the FAQs describe as refundable. There is no residency fee, and residents receive a $1,500 stipend — so a completed residency moves money towards the artist rather than away.

Sessions are two, four or six weeks. Lodging, meals and a private work space are provided; lunches and dinners are prepared Monday through Friday with provisions left for weekends, and linens and weekly housekeeping are included. The FAQs cover fees, dates, eligibility and what is provided, and say nothing at all about rights in the work made there.
